| April 2024 | Inauguration Ceremony | The 33rd Inauguration Ceremony indicates the official commencement of the new session of the Accounting Students’ Society, HKUSTSU. The Ceremony will be held in early April and our cabinet will display our sincere devotion towards the Accounting Students’ Society. Distinguished guests, professors, and student representatives from various societies inside and outside HKUST will be invited to attend the Ceremony and witness the commencement of our session, witnessing the birth of the 33rd Cabinet of the Society. |
| August 2024 | Orientation Camp 2024 | The most anticipated event of the Society, Orientation Camp 2024 (“OCamp”), will be held in August. All business students will be welcomed to join, especially those who have accounting majors or are interested in accounting. The camp will be a 3-day-2-night camp, following an Orientation Day (“ODay”). The packed camp schedule will include ice-breaking sessions, mass games, School Hunting, a Campfire Dance, a Pub Night, and Beach Day, aiming to provide freshmen a platform to build social circles and networks in the university. The Oday, scheduled a week before Ocamp, aims to foster connections among freshmen. It features ice-breaking games, mass games, and campfire dance demos. The specific date for Oday is yet to be confirmed, but it serves as an opportunity for newcomers to break the ice and build bonds. |
| September 2024 | Orientation Week | In order to support freshmen in their transition to university life, it is vital to provide assistance in expanding their social networks and finding companions on campus. To fulfil this purpose, the Orientation Week (O'Week), scheduled for early September, will span a week. The primary objective of O'Week is to attract new members to various societies and sports teams. During this event, students will receive information about upcoming society activities such as the Accounting Festival, Mentoring Programme 2024, and Intramural competitions. Additionally, a special grand reunion is being planned to strengthen the bonds and foster a sense of belonging and support among the freshmen within the university community. |
| September- October 2024 | Accounting Festival 2024 | The Accounting Festival 2025 is a significant event that takes place after the start of the Fall Semester. Its primary objective is to assist society members in expanding their social circles, maintaining relationships, and fostering a sense of belonging within the Society. The Accounting Festival 2025 will span two weeks in December and feature various activities. These include an Opening Ceremony, a grand reunion, a talent quest, a BBQ gathering, and a Closing Ceremony. Campus will be adorned with banners and decorations, creating a festival atmosphere. Members will receive souvenirs as tokens of appreciation. The festival will also include captivating performances and gatherings, providing opportunities for members to engage, connect, and celebrate their shared interests in the field of accounting. It serves as a platform for networking, fun, and building lasting friendships within the Society. |
| September-November 2024 | Mentoring Program 2024 | The Mentoring Programme 2024 offers our members a valuable platform to establish connections with mentors and gain career guidance from them. Our esteemed mentors represent a diverse range of backgrounds, including accounting bodies, prominent accounting firms such as the "Big Four," CPA firms, commercial and investment banks, consulting firms, and the financial sector. Through our mentoring programs, mentees will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with their assigned mentors. Additionally, they will benefit from a variety of workshops, such as the CV Workshop and Wine Tasting Workshop, where they can acquire a wide range of skills. Our ultimate goal is to equip mentees with the necessary support and guidance from experienced mentors so that they can be better prepared to thrive as future business leaders. |
| November 2024 | Graduation Week | Graduation signifies the completion of the four-year journey in HKUST of graduates. To commemorate this important milestone for accounting students, we will prepare a series of events and items to ensure they can share the greatest graduation experience with peers and companions. |
| October 2024- March 2025 | Annual Journal 2025 | The Annual Journal 2025 is a highlighted publication of the year, providing subscribers with the latest information of the accounting field. It includes mainly four parts, namely Main Theme, Current Issues, Entrepreneurship Exploration, New Elements on Career and Guest Interview, picturing the accounting industry comprehensively. It would also inspire readers and recapture the moments of our recent activities, so as to update our members with the latest movements of the society. |
| Whole Year | Accounting Alumni Association, HKUSTAA | Accounting Students’ Alumni, HKUSTAA is a separate committee formed and run by the alumni of the Accounting Department. We believe that by developing and maintaining relationships amongst alumni, they can further expand their connections and will surely benefit them in their work life. In order to do so, we will organize numerous activities and gatherings for them. |
| Hong Kong Inter-Tertiary Accountancy Association | The Hong Kong Inter-tertiary Accountancy Association (HKITAA) is launched by student representatives from eight universities, including HKUST, CUHK, PolyU, CityU, HKBU, LingU, HKSYU and MUHK. The HKITAA brings students together from different universities through joint-university functions and provides them a platform to know students from different universities. | |
| Welfare Provision & Replenishment | INumerous welfare goods would be provided to members to improve their sense of community. Members would be given access to well-designed T-shirts, lined paper, and folders with Society logo at discounted rates. All members would receive welfare so they could take advantage of discounts at various stores. All members would get year-end presents in March, and Year 4 members would receive graduation gifts. | |
